Opportunities for Graduate or Postgraduate Students!

 

If you are living in Australia and are studying in the fields of web development, ICT, graphic design, programming, AI or combinations thereof and have experience in designing and creating websites, you can help us. SEAW is looking for committed creative person with a passion for social impact for women and who is willing to give up a few hours per fortnight to update and upgrade our website. It would look great on your CV.

VOLUNTEER WEBSITE OFFICER (VWO)

 

SEAW is a new not-for profit organization established in Australia, dedicated to help empower women in Africa through renewable solar energy technology. We envision to create a "22nd century" not-for-profit organization with technology at the forefront and where distance is of small importance. An organization that follows a current and future global trend of being, communicating, growing and learning.

To be a major champion of gender equality for women in Africa and their economic empowerment for African development.

To provide renewable solar energy technology to women in business and their children and communities in rural Africa.

To provide solar technology for women-led and women-owned rural businesses

To provide solar technology for rural primary and secondary education

To provide solar technology for rural maternity clinics and health centres

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a graduate or postgraduate student in Australia who has a proven talent for web design. You should be studying in the fields of web development, ICT, graphic design, programming, AI or combinations thereof. A command of relevant graphic design applications, web design tools, common coding languages will be of advantage. You should have a knack for independent thought and creative tendencies. Your written English language skills should be excellent. You should also have a strong social conscience with a wish to make a difference on the ground.

 

Considerations

  • This is an unpaid position.

  • We anticipate you spending approximately 8-10 hours maximum per fortnight.

  • You should be able to work from home and have access to relevant software, and fast internet.

  • You may choose your own hours of work as long as you can stick to deadlines.

  • We will give you access to our internal online communication platform.

  • We would keep your CV on file for future paid opportunities

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Regularly update our website at least once per fortnight

  2. Improve and upgrade our website from time to time where necessary upon request, including design aspects.

  3. Be proactive and creative in your solutions.

  4. Make suggestions and recommendations as you see it.

  5. Work closely with the Director of Technology on technical issues such as programming or AI if relevant.

  6. Work closely with the CEO on content and design issues.
